Dr. Benjamin Kanter
Benjamin Kanter MD FCCP is the Chief Medical Information Officer for Palomar Health in San Diego. He graduated from the University of Michigan with Distinction and Honors after which he received his Medical degree and Internal Medicine training at Northwestern University. He completed his post-doctoral studies in both Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at the U.C.S.D. Medical Center in California.
Dr. Kanter is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, and received special certification in Critical Care. He is a partner with Escondido Pulmonary Medical Group, the Chief Medical Officer for ConversePoint Inc. (Chicago), provides consulting services for AirStrip Technologies, and is a member of the advisory boards of the following companies: Cisco, Nuance, AirStrip Technologies, Sotera Wireless, Spyglass Consulting, and the CMIO Board for HealthLeaders Media.
Dr. Kanter has chaired the departments of Medicine at both Palomar Medical Center and Pomerado Hospital and is a past-Chief of Staff at Pomerado Hospital. He became the CMIO for Palomar Health in 2006 and is a member of the executive management team. In this role, he is responsible for the development of clinical information systems. He has a special interest in mHealth and is the co-developer of the MIAA platform, now licensed to AirStrip Technologies.
